FAQ
WHAT IS SEMI PERMANENT MAKE-UP?
Semi permanent makeup is an advanced form of tattooing, however we do not implant deeply into the skin, so the results fade over time. Microblading, powder eyebrows, hyperealism brows, hairstroke brows, combination eyebrows, microshading, lip blush tattoo, lip liner tattoo, eyeliner tattoo and eyelash enhancement tattoo all full under the term semi permanent makeup. The specialised techniques used for semi permanent makeup are also referred to as permanent cosmetics, permanent makeup, micropigmentation and cosmetic tattooing.
IS SEMI PERMANENT MAKE-UP FOR ME?
Over 18 and use cosmetics? Then yes, it could be for you. Semi permanent makeup can enhance your features with a soft natural look or be applied more heavily with the purpose of replacing your own makeup without worrying about your makeup smudging or sweating off.
It’s a must-have if you are a victim of over plucking, or just have sparse eyebrows or no eyebrows. Our artist will recommend the best technique for your skin type taking into account your desired look.
DOES SEMI PERMANENT MAKE-UP HURT?
Most of our clients tell us it's not painful, just a little uncomfortable.
During your treatment to ensure your comfort, we’ll use effective numbing agents and most effective techniques designed to cause minimal skin trauma and the least discomfort too.
HOW LONG DOES SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?
Semi permanent makeup on eyebrows lasts about 2 years, but it’s totally dependent on many variables - such as, clients skin type and sun exposure. We recommend that you return to touch up your enhancement every 12-18 months and the charge for this is half the original price. Lip and Eyeliner tattoo tends to last longer because the primary colours used can be implanted slightly deeper into the skin. Warning! If you choose an artist who promises more permanent results, they are giving you a fully fledged tattoo. For eyebrows especially, this becomes a problem because blonde and brown pigments are NOT designed to last longer than a few years. If you have these colours implanted like a traditional tattoo, they will turn to very undesirable colours after 2 years like red, grey, green, blue and purple. Choose your artist carefully!
HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME FOR SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP?
There’s no real downtime and our treatments do not stop you from going about your normal routine. 2-4 days of light flaking is normal and usually subside within a week. See our aftercare page for more information.
HOW MUCH DOES SEMI PERMANENT MAKE-UP COST?
Prices are from £320 up to £390. Visit our Services & Prices page to learn more. You may find cheaper prices from other artists but consider why they are cheap. Having a semi permanent tattoo on your face is a big deal, if something seems too good to be true, it almost always is. Do your research!
WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?
Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) based gels injected beneath the skin’s surface to smooth wrinkles and add volume. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in our bodies, so it is very safe.

WHAT AREAS CAN FILLERS BE USED FOR?
The face loses volume and contour when we age, resulting in the appearance of sagging. Dermal fillers are used to replace volume loss and enhance facial contour and restore support, giving the patient a more youthful appearance.Â
For instance, the lips can be injected to improve their shape, size, symmetry and proportion. The cheeks can be injected to make the face more defined and contoured. The folds between the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth can be smoothed out to reduce the appearance of sagging and help the skin look more hydrated and youthful.
HOW IS DERMAL FILLERS CARRIED OUT?
Dermal fillers involves a few tiny injections directly into the skin, and takes up to 30 minutes to complete. There is no downtime, you can go about your daily routine as normal. Light swelling and bruising is normal and will subside in a few days. The result can be seen immediately and last anywhere from 6 months to over a year. Please note: The procedure varies from person to person depending on your desired look and the severity of the wrinkles that are being treated.
DERMAL FILLERS - IS IT PAINFUL?
It can be painful if the procedure is carried out by injector who is not as skilled. A numbing cream can be applied to the treated area but is not necessary as the dermal filler contains local anaesthetic, which is injected throughout the treatment.
DERMAL FILLERS - IS IT SAFE?
Yes. We use only products with proven safety record, such as Juverderm and Restylane. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance which occurs naturally in the body, there is no risk of allergic reaction.
