WHAT IS LIP NEUTRALISATION?

Lip Neutralisation is a lip blush tattoo treatment in which the color of melanin rich and cool-toned lips is evened out and lightened (neutralised).

This procedure essentially lightens skin undertones and counteracts them with complementary colors.

This is most commonly done using an orange or yellow coloured pigment pigment to add warmth to darker/cooler tones in the top and bottom lip.

Once the lips are even in colour, a target colour will be applied in the final session.

The pigment is deposited using a semi-permanent makeup machine that has many small needles.

Successful lip neutralisation is usually accomplished over the course of multiple sessions and can take up to 6 months for the desired result to be achieved (depending on the colour of the lips to begin with).

Lip neutralisation costs £140 per session with a minimum of 3 sessions usually needed.

HOW LONG DOES LIP NEUTRALISATION LAST?

2-4 years. We recommend a touch up every 2 years to keep the lips looking fresh.

DOES IT HURT?

More sensitive areas, such as the lip line can be slightly uncomfortable. Numbing agents can be applied throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort. The lips may be slightly tender after for a day or 2.

WHAT DOES LIP NEUTRALISATION HEALING PROCESS INVOLVE?

The healing period lasts around 7-10 days. Swelling is normal and lasts for a couple of days. Some scabbing will appear after that. Over the course of the healing process, your lips will go through different stages and can appear darker at around day 7 - don't panic - the lips start to lighten at around day 14 and continue to lighten over the next 6 weeks.
