Powder Brows: Healing Day by Day

The powder brows healing process usually takes up to 4-6 weeks.

This varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including environmental factors (sun exposure) and how well you follow the aftercare instructions. Everyone heals differently. For example, mature skin takes more time to heal. Some people will lose more pigment than others. For example, someone with oily skin may not retain pigment as well as someone with dry to normal skin. This is just the way it goes!

The first ten days are essential for optimal results. Following the aftercare instructions 100% contributes to 80% of the final result. Not following the instructions poses a risk to your health (e.g. skin infection). It also contributes to poor pigment retention. In other words, your money wasted!

The powder brows healing process can evoke a series of emotions. The look of your brows immediately after the treatment is not the final result, it takes time for the skin to heal and the pigment will look different at every stage of healing. Its important to remember powder brows is a process and takes time.

Your eyebrows will look dark in colour immediately after treatment and in the few days following. This is completely normal. You might think having the treatment was a bad idea but your brows will become lighter after the flaking period is over (approximately day 7-10).

Some people produce minor flakes over their new eyebrows while others produce thicker scabs. Again, this depends on factors like skin type and how well you look after your eyebrows. Typically, people who produce more lymphatic fluid tend to scab more. Lymph is an infection-fighting fluid naturally produced by our bodies, and it surfaces when the skin is traumatised. It's our bodies way of protecting itself. If your artist notices tiny droplets of lymph fluid surfacing on the brows, they can give you tips to reduce a build up. For example, they can advise to blot the brow with a cotton pad area every 3o minutes for the first day following the procedure. This will help tackle those pesky scabs from forming.

The powder brows treatment is always achieved over 2 sessions. The touch-up is there to fix the gaps, patches and imperfections that may have appeared during the powder brows healing. All established and knowledgeable artists will offer 2 sessions. Powder brows cannot be achieved in just 1 session.

Once the eyebrows have healed after the touch up-assuming it was done correctly and you followed the aftercare-your new brows will look amazing and you can wear them proudly for up to 18 months!
